GL Communications (News - Alert) Inc., a provider of test, monitoring, and analysis equipment for TDM, Wireless, IP and VoIP networks, recently released its ISDN Protocol Analysis and Emulation software.
ISDN is an integrated solution for providing basic telephony and data services while offering added telephony services such as supplementary services. GL’s ISDN Protocol Analysis solution, which can capture and analyze a stream of frames on an ISDN PRI link, makes a perfect solution for testing ISDN products designed for either U or S/T interface, including network terminations, Type 1 terminating equipment and terminal adapters.
According to technical specifications, GL’s ISDN analyzer is also capable of decoding LAPD according to Q.921. GL Communications supports the following types of ISDN analyzers:
• Real-time ISDN Analyzer
• Offline ISDN Analyzer
“GL's ISDN Emulator offers a complete solution for testing, troubleshooting, installation and maintenance of devices and networks implementing PRI ISDN. It is useful to test ISDN products designed for either U or S/T interface, including network terminations, Type 1 terminating equipment, and terminal adapters. ISDN equipment includes telephones, switchboards, PBXs, PC cards, video conferencing equipment, interconnect systems, switches and routers,” Senior Manager for Product Development at GL, Jagdish Vadalia, explained in a statement.
Additionally, the ISDN Analyzer displays the summary, detail, hex-dump, statistics and call detail views. Its call detail recording feature includes data link groups that help in defining the direction of the calls in a given network, as well as form logical groups comprised of unidirectional (either 'Forward' or 'Backward') data links. It supports filtering and search based on SAPI, TEI, C/R, N(S), N(R), P/F, supervisory functions, and ISDN message types and allows for the addition to the summary view, filtering and search features, providing users increased flexibility needed to monitor required protocol fields.
In other VoIP monitoring news, Tone Software (News - Alert) recently revealed its new free Microsoft (News
- Alert) Lync monitoring tool, which allows users to easily and securely manage the quality of services within the Lync UC environment, including Quality of Service (QoS) alarming, notification and dynamic QoS management dashboards.
