Tone Software (News - Alert) has revealed the all-new release of its ReliaTel VoIP and unified communications (UC) Service Assurance solution, version 4.1, which now offers monitoring and management for Microsoft (News
- Alert) Lync UC environments. Tone is well-known for its industry-leading, comprehensive voice quality and network monitoring and management software for converged telecommunications and IT infrastructures, and the company takes pride in the latest version of its renowned ReliaTel solution.
Implementing Microsoft Lync as UC platform has been widely embraced over recent years and is proving to be a quickly growing trend, specifically with Microsoft reporting that its UC platform experienced a 250 percent growth rate this year alone. Many businesses view Lync as an excellent, cost-efficient strategy to incorporate unified communications into their customers’ existing networks and desktop resources.
While making the Microsoft move sounds like (and is) a great strategy, it can leave one’s IP network in serious strain, which can severely compromise or overshadow the benefits which Lync-implementation is supposed to bring, such as unified messaging and increase user productivity.
This is where Tone’s new ReliaTel solution comes into play. Since it’s a solution specifically and uniquely adapted for Microsoft Lync, it works to proactively manage the entire Lync UC environment, as well as the underlying IPT network, primary VoIP switch, third party SBCs and network transport devices, end users’ desktop resources and users’ softphone call quality.
In other words, those enterprises using Lync as their UC platform will be able to exclusively enjoy enhanced insight, precision and control with ReliaTel’s unmatched management functionalities, which now boasts real-time, multi-platform management to achieve true management of quality, performance and capacity across the entire VoIP and UC environment.
I was able to exclusively gain access to this screenshot depicting what the new ReliaTel Lync QoS management dashboard looks like:

Furthermore, managed service provider (MSPs) will find a boost of benefits previously unseen, as ReliaTel Lync allows them to tap into new management capabilities which in turn open additional doors for client sites integrating Microsoft Lync into their environment, a statement explains. This ultimately enables service providers to easily and simply expand their service portfolio to offer management services over a broader range of UC technologies – and most importantly – without increasing costs.
