For those immersed in the VoIP world, it might come as no surprise that word is spreading quickly about Tone Software’s (News - Alert) latest voice management software upgrade, ReliaTel 4.0. After all, the solution not only boasts advanced performance dashboards, prioritized traceroute, alarms backlist and extended AccessPlus remote access, but also delivers expanded management intelligence.
And while managed service providers (MSPs), integrators and enterprises are certainly casting an eye toward the latest voice management solution, particularly since it optimizes operations while providing management views that augment operational efficiency, it’s the dashboard component of the new release that is garnering a longer gaze.
According to Tone officials, its new dashboard interface does much more than improve the visual appeal of the data.
“The world of Unified Communications (News - Alert) introduces collaboration technologies traversing the traditional data infrastructure,” Amit Kapoor, director of strategic technology at Tone Software, shared in a recent company blog post. “A view of UC service issues that ignores the physical server or networking components provides only a portion of the data required to troubleshoot or resolve the problem.”
Specifically, let’s say you have an Avaya (News
- Alert) S8800 Media Server platform that hosts several communications applications such as core call control, call admission, signaling services, and attendant features, in order to successfully manage this device one would need visibility over the physical hardware platform, network connections, boards availability, available OS system resources, availability over the SIP, H.323, ISDN, DSP resources, traffic usage, and call detail records, among many other things.
ReliaTel is already capable of presenting visibility into the complex data needed to manage the Avaya Aura environment but with the new dashboard, this view is enhanced as engineers are presented with simultaneously visibility over the platform alerts, platform resources, traffic capacity alerts, VoIP QoS issues, and network statistics on the platform.
